Permanent Committees (per Bylaws/Covenants)

Architecture Control Committee | Chair: Rhonda, 444-6555

The mission of the Architectural Control Committee is to review and approve plans for proposed construction and improvements in River Place. This committee is limited to three (3) voting members and enjoys other privileges as defined by the Bylaws of the Association.

Nominating Committee

The mission of the Nominating Committee is to recommend to the Membership annually those people whom the Committee believes would best serve the Members by being on the Board of Directors. The committee accomplishes this Mission by searching for people of ability who have a desire to contribute to the well being and success of River Place. This committee enjoys other privileges as defined by the Bylaws of the Association.

Special Committees

Budget Committee | Chair: Ken Gerardi, 349-7319

The mission of the Budget Committee is twofold; to offer advice and recommendation to the Board and the Treasurer, and to review and prepare the operating budget including sustainability analysis of receipts and expenditures. The Chair of the Budget Committee is the Treasurer of the Board.

Community Events Committee | Chair: Karen Rolfe H: 343-6119

The mission of the Community Events Committee is to coordinate a variety of neighborhood-wide events throughout the year, to bring residents together in an entertaining social setting. In addition, the Committee oversees the activities of various special interest clubs and facilitates the semi-annual neighborhood garage sales. It is an all-volunteer committee made up of River Place residents, has a chairperson for each event, and a chairperson who oversees the committee as a whole.

Zoning Committee | Chair: Christie Griffith H: 527-0479

The mission of the Zoning Committee is to receive and review property development notices and determine what action, if any, should be taken on those notices. Members of the Committee will maintain relationships with surrounding residential communities, commercial property owners, and government officials as a means to monitor local developments and more effectively communicate River Place homeowner concerns. The Chair will communicate committee activities and items of interest to the board and community, and solicit community involvement in activities as necessary.

Committee Operating Procedures

Committee membership is voluntary and all River Place property owners are encouraged to participate. Membership to each committee is not limited except for voting members of the ACC and the Chair of the Budget Committee.

Each committee will self-elect a chairperson to organize activities and represent the committee before the community and Board.

Committee members serve at the pleasure of the Board and will keep the Board informed of actions taken on behalf of the community and the Association.

The committee chairperson will submit a quarterly report to the Board to briefly describe recent activities and future plans.

Each committee is entitled to submit a budget request to the Board to fund appropriate activities.

Each member of a recognized committee is covered by the Association’s D&O policy for all authorized committee related activities.
